Veterans Health Administration ‘VIONE’ joins the Sustainable Medicines Partnership
YewMaker, the executive lead of the Sustainable Medicines Partnership (SMP), is announcing that the the USA based Veterans Health Administration affiliated VIONE Team has joined as a Collaborator.
The SMP is a not-for-profit private-public collaboration executing projects to make the use of medicines more sustainable and less wasteful.
The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) is the largest integrated Health Care System within the United States of America, with over 1,298 medical facilities, including 171 VA Medical Canters, and serving over 9 million Veterans in all 50 states and territories.
VIONE is a VHA Diffusion of Excellence supported medication optimisation and polypharmacy reduction program that has won many prestigious awards and has been adopted widely though the VHA.
The collaboration within the SMP will focus on sharing and scaling best practices to improve patient safety and sustainability, through planned optimization and cessation of Potentially Inappropriate Medications (PIM). Our collaborations will also integrate measurable decarbonisation impacts with the proven clinical and cost benefits of medicines optimisation, education and shared decision making.
